In late July, the OBN team joined thousands of believers at the Southwest Believers' Convention — days set apart for the Word, worship, and being built up in the faith together.

From session to session we sat under strong teaching, lifted our voices in worship, and met brothers and sisters carrying the same fire for the Gospel. There's a strengthening that only happens when God's people gather — the kind of encouragement you carry home and pour right back out.

We left sharpened and stirred up, reminded that the mission to reach the world is one we run together — shoulder to shoulder with the whole family of God.

On July 25, the OBN family showed up to serve our community alongside Feed My Starving Children — trading a Saturday for scoops, seals, and boxes full of hope.

Down the assembly line we went, filling bags with rice, soy, and vitamins and sealing meals bound for hungry children. Hands of every age moved together, worship in the background, laughter all around — the simple joy of loving our neighbor in a way you can hold.

We came to give a few hours. We left reminded that kindness to those in need is never wasted — it's a loan the Lord Himself promises to repay.

Some Saturdays you show up to serve — and you leave changed. That's exactly what happened when the OBN family rolled up our sleeves at Feed My Starving Children.

Around long steel tables we formed assembly lines, scooping rice, soy, dried vegetables, and vitamins into bags, sealing them, and packing them into boxes. Every bag we filled was a meal. Every meal was a prayer with a destination — a child somewhere in the world who would go to bed full instead of hungry.

There was laughter. There was worship playing in the background. There were hands of every age moving together for one purpose. For a few hours, the distance between us and a hungry child on the other side of the planet shrank down to a scoop, a seal, and a quiet “God bless this food.”

We came to give a morning. We left reminded that the Gospel has hands — and that loving our neighbor sometimes looks like a cardboard box of meals headed for the nations.

In February 2025, the OBN team packed up and headed to the Gaylord Texan near Fort Worth for the National Religious Broadcasters Convention — and walked into a room full of people who carry the very same calling we do.

For a few days we sat under teaching, walked exhibit halls buzzing with ministries and media-makers, and traded stories with broadcasters from around the world. There's something steadying about realizing you're not building alone — that across countless screens and signals, a whole family of believers is working to get the Gospel out.

We came home with new friendships, fresh ideas, and a deeper conviction about why OBN exists. It's part of why we're a proud member of the NRB today — an association of Christian communicators devoted to the same Great Commission.

The convention reminded us of a simple truth: the message is ancient, but the mission to carry it is shared — and it's bigger than any one of us.
